My name is Gadget and I am a multidisciplinary SF Bay Area artist.
While making art has always been part of my life, I tend to think of myself more as a maker and creative problem solver. In my youth, I exhibited ceramic sculptures and studied studio art. I’ve built art and led complex projects for Burning Man, I’ve installed art in outdoor spaces, and I tend to add an artistic touch to everything I do. I frequently work in strange mediums, often incorporating found and reclaimed objects into my art in unconventional ways. As a result, I am a jack of all trades and I'm comfortable working in many mediums simultaneously. In early 2023, I was ejected from the tech world and have been working in the creative space ever since. I'm constantly searching for the sweet spot between my technical prowess and creative whims.
Recently I've been inspired by, and honing my skills at, laser cut layered wood art. I am attracted to the duality of designing digitally and crafting physically. My work often incorporates community, environmental, & hyper-local topics. Lately, I've been fascinated with local architecture and you can see some of that reflected in my work.
